Broadcast and Film Operations are both looking for student employees who qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS). There are several entry-level positions available in both Broadcast Checkout and the Film Equipment Room. OPS Student Employee Job Description 

This Other Personal Services (OPS) student employee job opening is for a mid-level position in the Film Equipment Room and Film Production Facility at the UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media. We provide film/video production services to students and faculty of the Film BA, BFA, and MFA degree programs. 

Lead Federal Work Study staff with the preparation, organization, and marshaling of equipment through our reservation system will be your primary job function. Attention to detail is a key requirement of this position. Knowledge of production equipment is preferred but not necessary. We will train you and prefer to keep OPS student employees for several semesters or years. During down times you will be asked to complete minor cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facility areas. 

All majors are encouraged to apply. 

Job Requirements 

  • Basic computer skills are required. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of camera, sound, lighting and/or grip equipment preferred. 
  • Able to lift items 40lbs (or heavier utilizing team lifting and/or the use of dollies). 
  • Comfortable with basic data entry. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Medium to high mechanical aptitude preferred.
