faces! We hope you have returned well rested and ready for another busy production season here at the Film Program at the UCF School of Visual Arts & Design!
To gain entry into the SVAD Film Program’s production facilities you will need to stop by the Film Operations Desk located in the Film Equipment Room | NSC-157 and have your UCF ID programmed for entry. The Film Equipment Room is open Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 12:30pm and 1:30pm – 5:00pm.
Several new Instructional Outlines for operating the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema and Cinema cameras have been uploaded to the Training>Instructional Outline section. A new outline for using the RAW CinemaDNG workflow in Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve has also been posted.
Each academic year, the Film Program at the UCF School of Visual Arts & Design produces over 100 student films. Our annual end-of-year exhibition events provide advance screenings of our student work before they are sent out to compete at festivals and showcases all over the world.
The Film Equipment Room will be open during the Spring Break to provide limited production support. As part of an equipment and facilities upgrade to the auditorium in the Visual Arts Building (VAB), furnished by a 2013-2014 UCF Technology Fee award, the Film Program at the School of Visual Arts & Design now has access to a Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) compliant cinema exhibition space. The VAB Auditorium is a 454 seat mixed use venue design to also support general classroom use and live performance events.
The principal use of this facility is to provide a verification and exhibition point for student generated Digital Cinema Packages (DCP) of completed film projects. A secondary use is a highly anticipated opportunity for UCF to begin contributing to the cinema viewing culture of Orlando, and the greater Central Florida area, by curating rare and hard to access independent and international cinema.
