It's FILM production that will win us the war!

Editing Lab Makeover

The Jonathan Mednick Editing Lab | NSC-172 is receiving a summer makeover in three phases:

Phase 1 will be a remodeling of the physical space – polished floors, repaired lighting, a new coat of paint (we’re thinking something in the ballpark of a light burnt sienna) and a serious furniture upgrade. We are very fortunate to receive several professional grade work surfaces courtesy of FIEA and the College of Arts and Humanities. The new layout will be a modified cubicle space that will allow for comfort, usability, and (finally) some style!

15 iPhone photos and an AutoStitch app = the above blank canvas.

Launching Fall 2010

At the start of  the Fall 2010 semester the UCF Film Operational Portal will be available as an online resource for students, faculty, and staff by providing easy centralized access to information about Department assets and facilities.  Serving as a digital front-end for the Film Dept’s Operations Desk and an answer key to your production questions, this new web site will become a one stop shop for production and classroom support.

Summary of what’s to come:

  • Operational notices – The latest news regarding the Film Department’s assets and facilities direct from me to you.
  • Facility reservation forms that can be downloaded and submitted online.
  • Facility activity calenders providing accurate information about the availability of sound stages, editing suites, classrooms, and more.
  • Virtual Tour – Specifications, guidelines, and photos of our main campus facility in the Nicholson School of Communication (NSC) building and our downtown facility at the Center of Emerging Media (CEM).
