Due to the impending landfall of hurricane Idalia, the UCF main campus will be closed…
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud desktop applications have been deployed on all Film Production Lab and Capstone Editing Suite workstations. All users are encouraged to upgrade their current Premiere Pro CS6 projects to Premiere Pro CC projects if they are not also using CS6 on their home computers to edit their projects. This can be easily done by opening their CS6 project files in Premiere Pro CC and following the prompts (when asked, be sure to make a back up of your CS6 project file before doing this, just incase there is a migration error). Premiere Pro CC is now the default application for all .prproj files, so double clicking a project file will always open the project in CC. If you do not wish to upgrade your project file to work in CC at this time, just cancel out of the conversion process.
If you are currently using CS6 on you home computer, and would like to continue to do so on campus, Adobe Creative Cloud CS6 desktop applications will remain on all Film Program editing workstations until after the 2014 Spring Semester has ended (est. May 31st). Users can still access these applications through the Finder Taskbar, i.e.: Go>Applications>Adobe Premiere Pro CS6>Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.app or by right clicking on an existing Adobe Premiere Pro .prproj file and then selecting Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from the Open With drop down menu.
Students interested in obtaining Adobe CC desktop applications for their home computers, as well as gain access to the entire Creative Cloud online experience, should visit Adobe Creative Cloud and check out their student discounted memberships.
