Overview of Program Events

Each year the Film and Mass Media Program at the UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media hosts a variety internal and public-facing events to help promote student learning and creative activities. Here is a list of the primary events held each year:

Production Crew Fair

A biannual event held for student film and television productions to help recruit potential crew members. It serves as a great opportunity for media creatives to meet similarly minded individuals to collaborate with on future projects.

General Casting Call

Held annually, interested actors submit auditions for dozens of student directors with films heading into production. Students participate in casting sessions and apply directing techniques under guidance from UCF faculty and Truthful Acting Studios.

Fall Showcase

An annual retrospective of short films that expose viewers to the groundbreaking world of independent cinema. This faculty-curated shorts program is comprised of student films produced during the previous academic year.

BFA Capstone Exhibition

A year-end exhibition of short films and video installations produced and curated by Film, BFA students. An annual celebration of hard work, creativity, and independent cinema by emerging filmmakers and artists.
