Film Operations thoroughly tests new application version…

VAB Auditorium Cinema Upgrade

As part of an equipment and facilities upgrade to the auditorium in the Visual Arts Building (VAB), furnished by a 2013-2014 UCF Technology Fee award, the Film Program at the School of Visual Arts & Design now has access to a Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) compliant cinema exhibition space. The VAB Auditorium is a 454 seat mixed use venue design to also support general classroom use and live performance events.

A secondary use is a highly anticipated opportunity for UCF to begin contributing to the cinema viewing culture of Orlando, and the greater Central Florida area, by curating rare and hard to access independent and international cinema.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative Cloud desktop applications have been deployed on all Film Production Lab and Capstone Editing Suite workstations. All users are encouraged to upgrade their current Premiere Pro CS6 projects to Premiere Pro CC projects if they are not also using CS6 on their home computers to edit their projects. This can be easily done by opening their CS6 project files in Premiere Pro CC and following the prompts (when asked, be sure to make a back up of your CS6 project file before doing this, just incase there is a migration error). Premiere Pro CC is now the default application for all .prproj files, so double clicking a project file will always open the project in CC. If you do not wish to upgrade your project file to work in CC at this time, just cancel out of the conversion process.
